Habitat volunteers

Lanoga Corporation and its regional subsidiaries and divisions believe in being involved in, and contributing to, the communities where we operate. We think this is best accomplished at the local level where the needs are best known.

Solicitations for contributions or grants should be addressed to the divisions, except for Habitat for Humanity (see below).

Contributions by our subsidiaries and divisions most often are in the form contributions and employee involvement. We generally focus on the following areas:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Food Banks
  • Medical Needs
  • Educational Opportunities
  • Endowment for the Arts
  • Children and Community Services

Habitat for Humanity's mission of providing decent, affordable housing and philosophy of self-help meshes closely with Lanoga's business focus and values. As a result, Lanoga established a partnership with Habitat for Humanity in 1992. Initially twenty-seven chapters were identified in our operating areas. Our support has since grown to a much larger number. We're very proud of our relationship with Habitat and of the fact that lasting relationships between our employees, the Habitat chapters, and recipient families continue to be built through employee volunteer efforts as well as cash and in-kind contributions.

Habitat for Humanity International started in 1976 in Americus, Georgia as the dream of Millard Fuller. Its mission is to provide decent, affordable housing to every family in America. To qualify for a home, families must go through a careful application and selection process. The family must then complete 250 sweat equity hours per capable adult, working on either their own or another Habitat home. Upon moving in, the family is supported by a Habitat Family Nurturer for the first six months. The home is paid for through an interest free mortgage the proceeds of which help fund future projects.
