Corporate Mission Statement
Lanoga Corporation is engaged in providing products and services to
the residential and commercial building industry through a chain of
lumberyards, component plants, and distribution centers. By supplying
customers with quality products and services at competitive prices,
acting as an effective distributor for our vendor base, and affording
opportunities for our employees to grow and prosper, Lanoga will provide
a return to shareholders comparable to the top performers in the
industry while operating in a manner which supports the communities in
which we reside and the environment in which we live.
Statement of Values
To accomplish our mission, we endeavor to conduct our
business adhering to the following values. While our business and
strategies may change, these values should persist.
Ethics The highest degree of integrity should be the
cornerstone of all our relationships with customers, vendors,
co-workers, and shareholders. We will be a company where honesty,
dependability and the highest level of moral character exists. In every
market we serve we should try to be recognized as caring corporate
citizens. We will be active in these communities and support social
needs in the areas in which we live and do business.
Service
The customer ultimately decides the fate of our business and his/her
satisfaction is of paramount importance. We will strive to achieve
constant improvement in customer service, including recognizing and
being responsive to our customers' changing needs and desires.
Safety
Nothing we do is worth causing injury to anyone. Through active
leadership and empowerment we will work to create and maintain a
consistent culture of Safety throughout the company based upon the
premise that every “accident” is preventable. We will take individual
and collective responsibility to provide a safe environment for
ourselves, our customers, our suppliers and the general public. This
will be done by actively promoting, reinforcing and supporting safe
behavior and a safe work environment.
Profitability
Our future depends on our ability to earn an attractive financial
return on our shareholder’s investment. As a privately held company our
growth will be fueled by the reinvestment of our profits. This can only
occur when our returns are more attractive than alternative shareholder
investment opportunities.
Individualism
We believe in every individual's dignity, worth, and unique
contributions. We endeavor to treat employees with fairness and respect,
and encourage them to think and act independently. All employees are
expected to develop skills whereby each can achieve personal job
satisfaction, growth, and financial reward through the teamwork and
contribution of all employees.
Teamwork
We support a high degree of individual initiative in our company. At
the same time we recognize the strength that comes from teamwork and
cooperation. The successes contributed by creative thinking and
successful innovations can be multiplied substantially when shared and
applied to the entire company. We encourage this sharing of ideas.
Human Resources
We strive to have the finest group of employees in our industry. We
prefer to promote from within when appropriate. We endeavor to train and
develop our people to improve their productivity and to advance within
the company. Because excellent employees are one of our most vital and
difficult assets to replace, where appropriate we try to assist
employees desiring to expand his/her responsibilities. As employees, we
will endeavor to contribute to the success of our company in recognition
that only a successful organization can provide continued employment for
an indefinite time period.
Distributive Authority
Managers often have the best information available to make timely
decisions in response to their local market and customer needs. For this
reason, managers have the authority and responsibility to make all
decisions necessary to profitably manage their areas of responsibility,
within the bounds of good judgment and company established policies,
procedures and guidelines. The manager’s supervisor should always be
consulted when exceptions are desired, and must be anytime significant
risk is involved.
Environment
We endeavor to conduct our business as good corporate citizens with an
environmental awareness. Our employees will strive to continually
develop and maintain that awareness. We will work to increase the
representation of “environmentally friendly” products in our offerings,
but will not add those for which such claims can not be reasonably
substantiated. We will attempt to take advantage of all waste reduction
and recycling opportunities where practical. And we will endeavor to
operate our business in a manner that minimizes the environmental
impact, mindful of our basic mission statement.
